Data we collect

The following categories of personal and preference data may be processed to provide the service:

Name and email address (via Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple)
Phone number (for verification, via Firebase Phone Auth)
Taste preferences (TasteDNA profile)
Dietary restrictions and allergy information
Language and cuisine preferences
Recipe history (recipes viewed, saved, and cooked)
Voice input, when you use hands-free voice mode: your spoken audio is converted to text using Apple's on-device speech recognition when available; for some languages or devices, Apple's cloud-based speech recognition service is used instead. In both cases, GustoBot's own servers never receive or store your raw voice recording, only the resulting text is sent to GustoBot to process your question. GustoBot's spoken responses are generated either on-device or via a cloud text-to-speech service and streamed back to your device
Advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you grant tracking permission: used by our ad partner (Google AdMob) to serve and measure rewarded video ads that let you earn extra recipe suggestions
Crash and error diagnostic data, collected automatically via Sentry, to help us find and fix bugs

How we use your data

Collected data is used only to provide you with personalized recipe suggestions and related app functionality. Your data is not sold to third parties and is not shared for marketing purposes.

Where we store data

Your personal data is stored on infrastructure hosted in the AWS Frankfurt (Germany) region, within the European Union.

Third-party services

Google: authentication (Google Sign-In)
Apple: authentication (Sign in with Apple)
Firebase: phone-number verification
Cloudflare: CDN and security layer
Google AdMob: rewarded video advertising; may process your advertising identifier if you grant tracking permission
Google AdSense: advertising on our website; may use cookies to serve personalized ads if you grant consent
Sentry: automatic crash and error reporting to help us maintain app quality
Gemini (AI): recipe generation; no personally identifying data is sent, only the ingredient and dietary-constraint context needed to generate a recipe

Your rights (GDPR and applicable local law)

You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data. We respond to requests within legally required timeframes.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete My Account) or by emailing support@gustobot.app with the subject "Delete My Account". When you delete your account, personally identifying data is permanently deleted or anonymized, subject to any data we are legally required to retain.

Cookies

GustoBot is a mobile application; our website does not use tracking cookies.

Children's privacy

The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
