1Prepare the syrup first so it can cool. In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the granulated sugar dissolves.
2Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Add lemon juice and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely.
3Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
