1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add penne and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 11 minutes; drain.
3Heat oil in a large, deep skillet. Add sausage and onion; cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain excess fat. Pour wine into the pan and bring to a boil while scraping the browned bits of food off the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon.
