1In a small bowl, sprinkle the agar-agar powder over 40 grams of water and let it hydrate for 5 minutes.
2In a medium saucepan, combine the remaining 200 grams of water and the hydrated agar-agar powder. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the agar-agar powder is completely dissolved.
3Add the granulated sugar and mizuame to the saucepan. Continue to heat and stir until the granulated sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is clear.
