Carefully separate the fragrant pink rose petals from their stems, ensuring to remove any green or white parts at the base of each petal, as these can impart bitterness. Rinse the fragrant pink rose petals gently under cold water and pat them dry with a clean cloth.

In a large, non-reactive bowl, combine the cleaned fragrant pink rose petals with 500 grams of the granulated sugar. Gently massage the fragrant pink rose petals and granulated sugar together with your hands for a few minutes until the fragrant pink rose petals soften and release some of their natural oils and color. Cover the bowl and let it rest at room temperature for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the fragrant pink rose petals to macerate and release more liquid.
