Wash the toor dal thoroughly and cook it in a pressure cooker with 200g of water until very soft, about 3-4 whistles. Mash the cooked toor dal well and set aside.

Wash the gongura leaves thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or grit. Roughly chop the tomatoes.

In a separate pot, combine the washed gongura leaves, chopped tomatoes, green chilies, and garlic cloves with 100g of water. Cook over medium heat until the gongura leaves wilt completely and the vegetables are soft, about 8-10 minutes.
