1Wash the raw jackfruit pieces thoroughly. In a large pot, add the raw jackfruit, 1 gram of turmeric powder, and 3 grams of salt. Add enough water to just cover the jackfruit.
2Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and cook until the raw jackfruit is tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain any excess water and lightly mash the cooked jackfruit with the back of a spoon, leaving some texture.
3In a small grinder, combine the freshly grated coconut, green chili, garlic, cumin seeds, and the remaining 2 grams of turmeric powder. Grind to a coarse paste using minimal water.
