1In a large bowl, combine the Golden syrup, Lye water, and Peanut oil. Whisk until well combined.
2Gradually add the Plain flour to the wet ingredients, mixing with a spatula until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for at least 60 minutes.
3While the dough rests, divide the Red bean paste into 8 equal portions, approximately 50 grams each. Roll each portion into a smooth ball.
