1In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced Onions with Salt and mix well. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the Onions to release their moisture.
2Add Besan, Rice flour, finely chopped Green chili, finely grated Ginger, chopped Fresh cilantro, Turmeric powder, Red chili powder, Cumin seeds, and Asafoetida to the bowl with the Onions.
3Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. The moisture from the Onions should help bind the mixture. Gradually add Water, a little at a time, only if necessary, to form a thick, cohesive batter. The batter should be thick enough to hold its shape when dropped.
