1Thoroughly wash the guavas. Trim off the stem and blossom ends, then cut each guava into quarters.
2In a blender, combine the quartered guavas, 500 grams of water, and the piloncillo. Blend on high speed until the mixture is very smooth and no large pieces of guava remain.
3Place a fine-mesh sieve over a large pitcher or bowl. Pour the blended guava mixture through the sieve, pressing down on the solids with the back of a spoon or a spatula to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining pulp and seeds.
