Wash the Sona Masuri Rice and Moong Dal together thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear. Drain well.

In a dry pan, lightly roast the Moong Dal over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until it turns aromatic and slightly golden. Be careful not to burn it.

Combine the washed Sona Masuri Rice, roasted Moong Dal, Water, and Salt in a pressure cooker. Close the lid and cook for 4-5 whistles on medium heat, or until the rice and dal are very soft and mushy.
