1Dry roast 200 grams of Mung dal in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat until fragrant and slightly golden, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
2Wash the roasted Mung dal thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear.
3In a pressure cooker, combine the washed Mung dal with 400 grams of Water and 1 gram of Salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is very soft and mushy.
