1Rinse Basmati rice thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear. Soak the rinsed Basmati rice in a large bowl with enough Water to cover it by several centimeters for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight.
2In a separate bowl, rinse Urad dal and Fenugreek seeds together. Soak them in enough Water to cover for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight.
3After soaking, drain the Water from the Urad dal and Fenugreek seeds. Grind them in a wet grinder or high-speed blender, adding a little fresh Water gradually, until a very smooth and fluffy batter is formed. The batter should be light and airy.
