1Wash the Toor dal thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear. Soak the Toor dal in 300 grams of fresh Water for 30 minutes.
2Drain the soaked Toor dal and transfer it to a pressure cooker. Add the remaining 300 grams of Water, Turmeric powder, and half of the Salt. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or until the dal is very soft and mushy.
3Once the pressure releases naturally, open the cooker and mash the cooked Toor dal lightly with a spoon or whisk to achieve a smooth consistency. Set aside.
