Heat Ghee in a heavy-bottomed pot or Kadai over medium heat.

Add Cumin seeds, Bay leaf, Cinnamon stick, Green cardamom, Black cardamom, and Cloves to the hot Ghee. Sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
