1Place the malt barley powder in a large bowl with 1000g of water. Knead thoroughly with your hands for about 5-10 minutes until the water turns milky.
2Strain the malt liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pot, squeezing out all the liquid from the malt solids. Discard the solids.
3Add the remaining 3000g of water to the strained malt liquid. Let it sit undisturbed for at least 1-2 hours to allow the sediment to settle at the bottom.
