1Rinse the Japanese brown rice thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear. Gently rub the grains between your palms to remove any bran.
2Place the rinsed Japanese brown rice in a bowl and add 500 grams of fresh Water. Allow the Japanese brown rice to soak for a minimum of 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
3Drain the soaked Japanese brown rice, discarding the soaking Water. Transfer the Japanese brown rice to the inner pot of a rice cooker.
