Rinse 200g dried red beans thoroughly under cold water. Place the rinsed dried red beans in a large bowl, cover with ample cold water, and soak for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Rinse 5g dried tangerine peel and soak it in a small amount of warm water for 15 minutes to soften. Scrape off any white pith from the inside of the dried tangerine peel with a spoon, then cut the softened dried tangerine peel into thin strips.

Drain the soaked dried red beans and transfer them to a large heavy-bottomed pot. Add 1500g water and the prepared dried tangerine peel strips.
