1Rinse the Short-grain rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the Short-grain rice in a bowl with enough fresh water to cover it for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour.
2Drain the soaked Short-grain rice well. In a medium pot, combine the drained Short-grain rice and 700 grams of Water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
3Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the Short-grain rice grains have broken down and the porridge has thickened to a creamy consistency.
