1Wash Toor dal thoroughly and soak in 500ml water for 30 minutes.
2Pressure cook the soaked Toor dal with 700ml fresh water and 1 gram of Turmeric powder for 4-5 whistles until very soft. Mash the cooked Toor dal well with a whisk or masher.
3Soak Tamarind in 50ml hot water for 10 minutes, then extract the pulp by squeezing and discard the fibrous solids.
