1Combine All-purpose flour for shaobing dough, Instant dry yeast, Granulated sugar, Salt for shaobing dough, and Baking powder for shaobing dough in a large bowl.
2Gradually add Warm water for shaobing dough, mixing until a shaggy dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled.
3While dough rises, prepare the oil paste: In a small bowl, combine All-purpose flour for shaobing oil paste, Sesame oil for shaobing oil paste, Five-spice powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix until a thick paste forms.
