1Wash and soak the broken wheat, chana dal, urad dal, toor dal, and masoor dal together in 1 liter of water for at least 4 hours.
2In a large heavy-bottomed pot or pressure cooker, heat 50 grams of ghee. Add half of the sliced onions and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside for garnish.
3To the same pot, add the remaining sliced onions, ginger-garlic paste, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
