Rinse the red beans thoroughly and soak them in cold water for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Drain the soaked red beans and rinse again. Place the red beans in a large pot with 1000g of fresh water.
Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 90 minutes, or until the red beans are very tender.
