1Thoroughly clean the Banana flower by removing the outer purplish bracts and the inner pistil and calyx from each floret. Finely chop the cleaned Banana flower and soak it in water with a pinch of turmeric to prevent discoloration, then drain well.
2Drain the soaked Chana dal and Urad dal completely. In a grinder, combine the drained Chana dal, Urad dal, Green chili, Ginger, Garlic, Fennel seeds, and Asafoetida. Grind to a coarse paste without adding water, or with minimal water if absolutely necessary.
3Transfer the ground dal mixture to a large bowl. Add the finely chopped Banana flower, finely chopped Curry leaves, finely chopped Fresh cilantro, finely chopped Onion, Rice flour, and Salt.
