Wash 200g Toor dal thoroughly under running Water until the Water runs clear. Soak the Toor dal in 400g Water for 30 minutes.

Drain the soaked Toor dal and transfer it to a pressure cooker. Add 600g fresh Water, 3g Turmeric powder, and 4g Salt. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the Toor dal is soft and well-cooked. Mash the cooked Toor dal lightly with a spoon or whisk.

Heat 30g Ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Add 150g chopped Onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
