Dry roast the white sesame seeds in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-low heat until they turn light golden and start to pop. Be careful not to burn them. Transfer the roasted sesame seeds to a large bowl and let them cool slightly.

If using raw peanuts, dry roast them separately until fragrant and lightly browned. Let them cool, then rub them between your palms to remove the skin. Coarsely crush the roasted peanuts using a mortar and pestle or a food processor.

In the same pan, add ghee and melt it over low heat.
