1Wash 200g Toor dal thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear.
2In a pressure cooker, combine the washed Toor dal with 600g Water, 3g Turmeric powder, and 8g Salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is very soft and mushy.
3Once cooked, mash the dal lightly with the back of a spoon or a whisk to achieve a smooth consistency. Set aside.
