Wash and soak toor dal and chana dal together in 500 grams of water for 30 minutes.

In a pressure cooker, add the soaked toor dal and chana dal with 500 grams of fresh water, 2 grams of turmeric powder, and 5 grams of salt. Cook until very soft (about 3-4 whistles), then mash well. Set aside.

Heat 30 grams of cooking oil and 20 grams of ghee in a large heavy-bottomed pot or pressure cooker.
