1Rinse the Salt-pickled cherry blossoms thoroughly under cold running water to remove excess salt. Soak them in fresh cold Water for at least 30 minutes, changing the Water once or twice, until the saltiness is mostly gone. Gently pat them dry with a paper towel and set aside.
2In a medium saucepan, combine the Kanten powder and 450 grams of Water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to hydrate the Kanten powder.
3Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly until the Kanten powder is completely dissolved. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
