Rinse Urad dal and Chana dal thoroughly under running water. Soak both dals together in ample water for at least 4 hours.

Drain the soaked Urad dal and Chana dal completely. Transfer them to a grinder with minimal water (just enough to aid grinding) and grind into a coarse, thick batter. The batter should not be too smooth or watery.

Transfer the dal batter to a large mixing bowl. Add the finely chopped Palak, finely chopped Green chili, grated Ginger, finely chopped Curry leaves, Cumin seeds, Asafoetida, finely chopped Fresh cilantro, and Salt to the batter.
