1To prepare the picadillo, heat 30 grams of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat and set the ground beef aside.
2In the same skillet, add 50 grams of diced white onion and the minced garlic cloves. Sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3Add the diced jalapeño pepper, diced potatoes, and diced carrots to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables start to soften slightly.
