1. To prepare the puran (filling), heat 10 grams of ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.

2. Add freshly grated coconut and grated jaggery to the pan. Cook on medium-low heat, stirring continuously, until the jaggery melts completely and the mixture thickens, leaving the sides of the pan. This will take about 8-10 minutes.

3. Stir in the cardamom powder and nutmeg powder into the puran mixture. Mix well and remove from heat. Allow the puran to cool completely.
