1Rinse 200g horse gram thoroughly and soak in 600g water for 8 hours or overnight.
2Drain the soaked horse gram. In a pressure cooker, combine the drained horse gram with 1000g fresh water. Cook for 6-7 whistles on medium heat until tender.
3Carefully strain the cooked horse gram, reserving the broth. Mash a small portion (about 50g) of the cooked horse gram and set aside. Discard the remaining cooked horse gram or use for another dish.
