1In a heatproof bowl, combine shiratamako and granulated sugar. Gradually add water, mixing well with a whisk until smooth and no lumps remain.
2Cover the bowl loosely with plastic wrap and microwave for 2 minutes on high power.
3Remove the bowl, stir the mixture vigorously with a wet spatula, then cover again and microwave for another 1-2 minutes until the mochi becomes translucent and sticky.
