1Rinse 100 grams urad dal thoroughly and soak it in water for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. Drain the soaked urad dal completely.
2Grind the drained urad dal with 15 grams ginger and 10 grams green chili into a coarse paste without adding any water.
3Heat 15 grams vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add 5 grams cumin seeds and 5 grams fennel seeds and let them splutter.
