1Rinse Chana Dal thoroughly and soak in water for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
2Drain the soaked Chana Dal completely. Grind the drained Chana Dal with Fresh Ginger and Green Chili to a coarse paste, adding minimal water if necessary.
3Heat a small amount of Mustard Oil (for frying dhoka) in a non-stick pan. Add Asafoetida and let it sizzle briefly.
