1Rinse the dried white hominy and dried pinto beans thoroughly. Place them in separate bowls, cover with plenty of fresh water, and soak overnight (at least 8 hours).
2The next day, drain the soaked dried white hominy and place it in a large pot. Cover with fresh water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the hominy is tender but still firm. Drain and set aside.
3Drain the soaked dried pinto beans and place them in another large pot. Cover with fresh water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1.5-2 hours, or until the pinto beans are tender. Drain and set aside.
