Rinse 200g toor dal thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear. Soak the toor dal in 400g water for 30 minutes.
Peel the 300g lauki and dice it into 1-inch cubes.
Drain the soaked toor dal. In a pressure cooker, combine the drained toor dal, diced lauki, 3g turmeric powder, 4g salt, and 800g water.
