1Rinse 200 grams of Toor Dal thoroughly and soak in 500 grams of Water for 30 minutes.
2Drain the soaked Toor Dal and transfer to a pressure cooker. Add 800 grams of fresh Water and 4 grams of Salt. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is soft and well-cooked. Mash lightly with a spoon.
3Soak 30 grams of Tamarind in 100 grams of warm Water for 10 minutes. Mash well and extract the pulp, discarding any solids.
