1Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the Fresh green fava beans and blanch for 2 minutes. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking. Once cooled, peel the outer skin from each fava bean; discard skins.
2In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the Vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the White onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
3Add the Garlic cloves and Serrano chile to the pot and cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
