1Rinse Japanese short-grain rice thoroughly until water runs clear. Cook the Japanese short-grain rice according to package instructions or in a rice cooker.
2Heat half of the Butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced Beef sirloin and sear quickly until browned on all sides. Remove the Beef sirloin from the skillet and set aside.
3Add the remaining Butter to the same skillet. Add the sliced Onions and sauté over medium heat until softened and lightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
